  • Developing TiltKart - Part 1

One of my previous posts discussed adding TiltFive to a Unity project. I have been adding to and expanding on that Unity project to make a small reference game called “TiltKart”. Putting together this little racing game has been hugely educational, and I wanted to share what I’ve learned.

  • Adding TiltFive To Unity Sample Projects

I finally got a chance to return to my TiltFive headset! The latest buzz on their Discord channel is around support for building and using Android devices with their kit. It’s in beta, but the lack of content at such an early stage intrigued me. Surely, it wouldn’t be that hard to convert an existing Unity sample project to use the TiltFive headset and wand controller, right? If I could accomplish that, then building it for several different platforms would be viable. In the end I succeeded, but I thought I’d share a walkthrough on how it went to make this process easier for others.

  • Dragon Magic Studios - ARCade Frame Assembly

I’ve already talked about Tilt5 in a previous post. Their system is a wonderful place to start and is dialed in on tabletop gaming with a strong social component. However, what happens if your aspirations are larger?

Well, they’re not going to stop you - far from it. However, they don’t have the time and resources to cater to every random idea that comes across the desk, either. For that, T5 turns to its community. One such member, Dragon Magic Studios, happened to live in China and have a strong interest in materials and resources. Upon testing the Tilt5 device and its board, he found that he really wanted… something better. Specifically, the board had visible lines, wasn’t easy to clean, and was relatively fragile for something that’s intended to pick up and move around from table to table.

  • Tilt Five - First Impression

Do you remember the PlayStation 2? I know, I know, you want to hear about Tilt5 - bear with me. So, do you remember? A console that included various versions of Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, and Tekken? The games were already great, and many of us have fond memories of them. Now, what if you played those games again today on a display that was so 3-dimensional it seemed like you would fall into it if you got too close?
